I read an article about a chiropractor that claims he can help fibromyalgia. He say`s it has something to do with a trauma to your neck. Have you heard of this before and do you know if it would be helpful?

Chiropractor Care and FMS

Chiropractor care can help the symptoms of Fibromyalgia due to regular adjustments. Fibromyalgia pains come from the build of toxins within the body.

When a chiropractor manipulates and adjust the spine, he releases these toxins into the blood stream. After any chiropractic or massage therapy, water needs to be drank to flush the body of these toxins which are released.

The neck is where most people who their tensionbut over adjusting is not good either. Find a chiropractor who is familar with Fibromyalgia since over adjusting can cause worse symptoms and pains.

I've been told this by my massage therapist, and read about it in my chiro's office. I did have a neck injury, (whiplsh somehow) and have problems mainly in my neck and shoulders. After a massage I HAVE to drink tons of water, b/c if I don't, I feel very achy and the knots come right back.

"Toxins" in your muscles, skin, system, etc. has nothing to do with Fibromyalgia. What kind of 'toxins' are you talking about? Lead, Mercury, feces, what? What I hate about this 'tip' is that it is very misleading, and blames the person with fibromyalgia for having somehow put 'toxins' in their system. It also suggests that fibromyalgia is somehow curable, just by removing the toxins (which are never explained), which is completely false.
